Windows XP Laptop Not Picking Up Wireless Networks

Hi,

I have a Windows XP laptop that won't see / display the available wireless networks. It should be picking up about 5 networks as it usually picks up our neighbour’s as well. Our wireless is definitely working as I have another laptop which is working perfectly.

- I have enabled the wireless via FN+F2

- The drivers seem to be installed correctly and don’t have any errors showing in Device Manager

- The wireless zero configuration service is started

- The radio is enabled in the Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility

Does anyone know of anything else I can try?

Thanks

Uninstall the wireless driver from device manager.
RESTART the computer (this step is very important. make sure you restart the computer before you try the next step) and install the latest wireless driver software from the internet.
Have you made recent changes to the computer?
The main things to consider :-
1>Installed/ Updated a 3rd party "firewall" application.
2>Installed a new antivirus/ antimalware solution that offers real-time protection
If re-installing the drivers doesn't help, temporarily uninstall your antivirus and firewall applications, RESTART the computer, and try connecting again.
Let us know how that goes.
