Hi, I'm having this problem with my computer, a really annoying one. I dont know if anyone will know what I'm talking about but do you know that really anoying beeping noise... umm its the one that comes from inside of your computer, ussually only in bios. You know, it doesnt go through the speakers. Well you see I use this computer at school alot and it keep bothering me because even if you turn the volume all the way down it'll still beep, for any reason. Like if somethings installing and I click like the installers splash screen it will beep, from some reason when I try to adjust the volume on the taskbar instead of signifying how loud my volume is, it does that. I dont get it and its driving me insane! I have to wait 20-25 days for windows vista and I honestly cant deal with that, at school I dont waant to disturb class or anybody in the library with this. SO can anyone help me.

Also I just recently uninstalled Office 2007 and my computer like just turned off halfway through uninstalling it so now no only can I not reinstall any other office, but I cant reinstall it either. I need to know how to get rid of it manually.

THanks

As far as the annoying sound:
1. You can try turning off sounds in windows (I assume you have winXP)
Control Panel // sounds and audio devices // sounds tab // select sound scheme to "no sounds"

2. If that doesn't do it, then it's the BIOS beep that is annoying you (which is what I am guessing in your case).
Restart the laptop and go into your BIOS setup.
Within the various menus, look for the option to turn off sound.

I tend to see that BIOS beeping more in laptops than in PCs.

And as far as your Office 2007 deinstallation problem.... Have you tried reverting to a system restore point to see it after that you can fully deinstall?
