Windows XP or Vista is Jerky - Help

Hi,

For some reason I am having problems with my computer. once I have installed either Vista or XP the machine is very sluggish and seems slow. I have 3 hard drives on my computer and I am not sure if it is because one of the hard drives is dying or something.

my spec is as follows

AMD X2 4200
4GB RAM
2 x 360 Sata Drives
1 x 120 IDE Drive
Nvidia 7600 GT Graphics Card.

What do you think may be causing this?

Hi,

I did - I dont know why its doing it - I have run all the windows updates as well as the drivers for my main motherboard which is the NForce 590 SLI AMD chip set.

Its doing my head in now as it just seem that my machine is very sluggish all the time, I dont know if it would be because I have 3 hard drives attached to the computer which XP on one of them, Vista on the other and the 3rd drive is for storage.

Any idea?

do PC's suffer from bottlenecks and if so how do you tell and fix?
