Ok I run windows xp but I run a dual boot partition set up with ubantu. My problem is my computer has contracted some mean spyware or something and I cannot open any program what so ever I can start it up and boot up windows normally but after that nothing works. I just need to get a couple files off my computer before I do a complete system restore to factory settings. However, this is my question how?....I have my laptop networked with my home network however I do not think my wireless is starting up when i boot my laptop (the problem is i have now way to verify) please any suggestions I need help I do not care if your suggestion is extremely long nor tedious, I NEED THESE DOCUMENTS NOW. thank you all.

I would try booting your computer in safe mode and attempt to run malwarebytes from there and see if it will clean up anything that is causing a problem. See if you can do that first and post back with results.

I have tried that the problem is when i enter safe mode an error occurs with my dual boot partition....any other suggestions?

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

"windows could not start because the following file is missin<Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe.
please re- install a copy of the above file

You say you have a dual boot system with ubuntu?

Does it boot into ubuntu?

If it does then does ubuntu read the entire drive?

Both ubuntu and windows partitions?

If you can read access the entire drive copy the files you need to a CD or what have you and problem is solved until you do a complete restore.
