I just tryed to re-do the operation system on one of my computers (it uses Windows XP Home). I finished the reinstallation but when I try to log onto a user account it requires a password....and when I made all the accounts during the last stage of the OS reinstallation I didnt set any passwords for any of the user accounts...Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know whats wrong?

there should not be a password unless you set a admin in setup (xp pro only)

edit: wait a compleat reformat or keep the data and reinstall the os?

First you may want a Welcome to the Computer Forum! http://www.computerforum.com/70672-official-welcome-thread.html and the reminder to new members to review the http://www.computerforum.com/52038-forum-rules.html

With a fresh install of Windows seeing a prompt for a password you simply leave that blank and press the enter/return key to keep loading Windows from that point. There's one registry edit you can make that will see XP boot straight to the desktop with no need to go through the user account prompting unless you are planning multiple user accounts there. The screen shot here shows the registry tweak seen at http://www.pctools.com/guides/registry/detail/13/

The menu bar>edit dropdown menu has the "modify" option there to change the forceunlocklogon value from "0" to "1". You use that along with the new value(DWord value works too) "AutoAdminLogon" also set to "1" to see the XP desktop automatically appear after simply bypassing the usual user account prompting screen. That can still be reached by simply choosing the logoff option when going to shutdown Windows.
