Windows XP - System Restore Does Not Work

Hi all, my first post to this forum. Bought a new computer from Dell 3 months ago. System Restore facility worked for first couple of days then no restore useable dates were available. Found support info suggesting try close down restore function and restart - did so - all dates disappeared as advised would happen but no new ones since been created auto and I can't set restore point manually. Restore function is switched on ie. shows 'C monitoring' and loads of space available on hard disc. Nothing shows up in my event log that I can see. Seems my paid for Dell support package only covers Hardware not software and they insist System Restore is software so I have to pay for their techie guys to help. Loathe to pay for something I feel they should sort for me. Anybody help please. Des
 
You have an OEM license for Windows XP, which means you are to contact the person/company that built your computer and installed the software. Dell is required to help you.
