Windows XP to Linux

When I want to play Minecraft, it's really laggy and I can't play at all, so I decided to get better performances using a new Operating System (OS): Linux. However, I don't know which ones I can choose of. I'd like to have the fastest ones for my laptop.
The specs are:
Asus
Eee PC
Intel[R] Atom [TM]
CPU N450 @1,66 GHz
1,67 GHz 0,99 GB
and I was told it had 2GB RAM.
I hope I can get the list as soon as possible

Nothing you put on that system will improve your Minecraft experience.

The Atom is super slow already and you're also limited to integrated graphics.
