hey guys. First time here so thanks in advance and hello to all. A friend of mine built me a bare bones last week and then ended up going overseas to war. I am having an issue upon startup. The windows xp is asking for a password and login which i have. Is there a way to get rid of that annoying popup asking for that information? Also, there are little boxes on the bottom right side of ym screen that display the internet connection. Is there a way to get rid of those?
 
u mean that you want to remove the windows password;
if that goes go to control panel->User Accounts->and then change the password and make it blank
 
i believe after you remove your password from the user acct than the next time you log in the pop up window will not appear anymore. i did try that before.
 
disable windows welcom screen when the computer turns on

start>control pannel>user accounts>change way user log on and off>uncheck use the welcom screen

remove login screen. turn on computer straight to windows no password needed.
start>run: "control userpasswords2">uncheck user muster enter name and password
