I need some help with my computer. I have a dell dimension 3100 with the operating system windows xp , there is a partition on this computer that is suppose to allow you to restore your computer to the original factory settings. And I have done this before by pressing the ctrl and f11 at the dell boot screen. the problem is this blue screen appears stating in white letters saying check for viruses on your computer. remove any newly installed hard drives or hard drive controllers. check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. run CHKDSK/F for hard drive corruption, and then restart computer.

technical information:
*** stop: oxoooooo7b (0xba4c7524,0xc0000034,0x0000000,0x0000000)

and I can not seem to axcess the partition is there a viruses on my computer that will not allow me to do this function. any help would be greatly appreciated. Bubba

Have you changed any settings in the bios lately? Sometimes this error refers to a wrong setting in the bios. Check to see if there is a sata or IDE controller setting that is set to ahci/raid instead of IDE/auto.
