Is it possible to just uninstall Windows as one would do with a regular program WITHOUT erasing all the other data on the disk?

There is no uninsaller for windows in which you can remove it like any other simple program simply because an operating system can't uninstall itself, you will need to run OS files to uninstall any program, and if you are trying to uninstall windows, you will need some files to be still running to uninstall and complete the process?? How can this be done??? Uninstalling the files which you are using for the uninstall process????!!!!!

Not really. You can however backup up that important data though and reinstall windows. Now if you had windows installed on it's own partition it would be possible to reinstall windows and leave all the programs alone that where installed onto another partition but most would not run after reinstalling windows and they'd have to be reinstalled again also.

Perhaps you could tell us what brings you to asking such a question and someone might be able to give you suggestions on how to achieve what it is that your looking too do. You can always partition or add extra hard drives so some data will never have to be removed such as MP3 files for a music library's etc.
