WinFast A340 TD GeForce FX 5200 256MB DDR DirectX 9 not showing satisfaction?

hi, i recently bought WinFast A340 TD GeForce FX 5200 256MB DDR for $300 and thats alot of money , but im not getting satisfaction from this. My System is AMD Athlon XP 2600+ , 2.09 GHz and 1.00 GB of RAM , i also recently got The Sims 2 expecting good graphics , i turn evrything on High the resolution , pixels ect. the graphics are compatible ....BUT SO LAGGY . i waz surprised of this , very surprized (and angry :mad: )leter on i heard that there are upgrades for this but i didnt know were too look , search engines didnt help so i decided to ask in a forum (thats why im here "DUH") so were can i get an upgrade or soft for my video card?

Please Help!
 
and also i got it in AU dollers so here good video cards that australia calls "cheap" is about $2000 for a 5200 so here buying good cards is hard

I really hope that not in american money. $300 for a geforce fx 5200 is a MAJOR RIP off. I dont mean to sound harsh but the geforce 5200 is horriable especially considering the amount of mony you was willing to spend. If at all possiable return it and pick up either a geforce 6600GT or a regular geforce 6800. the 6600GT will cost you around $200USA and the 6800 will cost you around $250. Both these cards will be a million times better then the geforce 5200.

oh AU money sorry you must of posted that when I was typing up my responce. Well I not sure what $300 AU translate into usa and what aviable there but it still remain the geforce 5200 not a great card.
 
llike i said AU money but i didnt reali buy it recently when i bought it i didnt see the 6800 models out so yeh 5200 waz the latest that i could find but i bouhg tit from a computer market , were japs sell there technolegy for very very low prices
 
i only wish i could give it back i would happely get a 6800 :D , but back to the point , do u know were i can ge tan upgrade for my card?

you cant really upgrade a card you have 2 options buy a new card or OverClock the card. I doubt OverClocking that particular model will give you any significant increase in performance.

you half to wait for someone else to answer that I never bothered with overclocking anything myself.
