Wiping PC Soon

Since my windows 7 order will come in 7 days I am going to need to clean install as I have 8GB of RAM but currently use 32bit XP due to only making the pc a month or so ago it would have been a waste paying for 64bit vista or something.

SO what way can I go around installing 64bit Windows 7? Like if I have to wipe the harddrive (happy to do this if NEEDED), how can I do that quickly with out harming the computer? Or when I load the disc will it ive an option?

Cheers :)

When you load the windows cd you will have to format anyway. If possible, do a quick format. If you bought a 64bit version that's all it can install. same with 32bit.

According to Microsoft you get one key but BOTH discs. So going by that I will be able to use either disc.

So I will install the 64bit - but my current OS is 32bit - so won't I have to 'Clean Install' or something?

Also what does it mean by 'Select "Custom Installation" and re-create primary drive partition(s)'?

Like the second bit.

Cheers

Yes, you can use either disc.

Yes, clean install.

Select Custom Install, select the partition you want to install on, Format, next...
