Wired vs Wireless

I've been reading a lot of threads about the different tpyes of mice and there is one questions that I have seen answered. I'm curious at others opinion on why a wired over wireless mouse? I would think that the way to go now, is wireless? Love to hear your opinions.

its generally that wireless mice have a slight lag.

whereas wired doesnt (at 1000MHz polling rate, 1ms is faster than any screen refresh rate)

thats why

The Razer Mamba tries to fix that issue though...

Batteries are also an issue, some people (like myself) don't care to replace/recharge the batteries for something that never moves off my desk.

ive thoiught about ti but like mentioned earlier batterys and lag were my main reasons, but i do have to say my mouse usb wire gets cought up sometimes in the other wires btu apart from that no problems

For the office there's not much point. I find wireless keyboards/mice are much better for multimedia lounge PC's or PS3's stuff like that. There's nothing more annoying than missing a headshot because the batteries went before you could click fire lol :)

It annoys some people. In my opinion wired mice are much better, as they do not need to be recharged or batteries do not need to be replaced. For gamers there is besically one option: wired mouse and keyboard.

I have had my Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard for over two years and love it. Before this I bought a cheat one and it found it's way in the trash because it would press other keys surrounding the key pressed. I do not have a traditional desk I use a recliner then have my monitor off to the side. I have never had any issues gaming as long as the recevier is placed in the right location. (in front of my monitor) For a tradional desk I would go wired personally. I replace the batteries in my keyboard once a year and in my mouse about evey 4-6 months. I use energizer lithium or it becomes annoying.

i would say go wireless for mouse, wired for keyboard. people complain about the batteries needing to be replaced, but i have had my mouse for over 6 months and its still running on the original batteries. the lag is non noticeable unless you are a hardcore , gaming is my life, kind of person.

these days, a good wireless mouse or keyboard last a long time on batteries. i bought an hp keyboard/mouse combo in august and used them everyday, sometimes forgetting to turn the mouse off overnight. about a week ago i needed to borrow the batteries for wiimotes and they had full bars.

however, i often use them with my tv and am sitting far away from the computer so I NEED wireless. if you are sitting next to your computer, in what way is wireless more convenient? it's less if anything. unless for an htpc, save your money and get wired.

what my mate got was like a hybrid one were it has both.. suposted to be realy good so im gonna get one aswell.. very expensive though
