wireless bridge help

Guys, i need help
i just got a 360, and i wanna play on live, i realized quickly that i don't wanna spend 100 bucks for their usb network adapter, but i do want it online.
after looking around i found a router that says that it serves as an access point, but i'm not entirely sure if that it will do the trick.. i just need a hand figuring it out.
the one that i found is here or on their website here
the way i have my network set up right now, is that there is a cable box connected to a wireless router a few rooms down. the router sends the signal throughout my house and all is happy... there is no protection on it (wpa/wep,etc) but mac filtering is turned on. what i want to do is put the router i found in my room and run a wire to my xbox.
would it work with this router and how would i go about setting up the system?
sorry for it being so long.. if anything is unclear let me know..
thanks a lot for your help

ps
if you have any other ideas i'm more than happy to hear them (any other routers, access points or anything like that)

so are you moving your current router to the xbox so you can plug in directly. You could always get a wireless gaming adapter, i think those may be cheaper than the wireless adapter for the xbox not to mention they're more universal.

the xbox 360 WiFi adapter is really just a wireless to ethernet bridge device, it is not an actual WiFi network controller. The difference is, that you plug it into the ethernet port and you set the bridge device up on your computer first with your network settings, then you plug it into your xbox and you are good to go.

Also, mac filtering does just about nothing. Stumbler's will reveal mac addresses and a simple application can spoof your MAC address and give someone access. At least put WEP on it.

no i wanna get a second router that will serve as an access point in my room, so it will turn my wifi signal from the first router into a lan line

as far as the mac filtering.. that was my dad.. it's his protection.. i don't really care... a basic user will never figure out how to do this.. and if an actual hacker wants to get into my network to steal all of my pictures.... lol by all means.. he'll get into it regardless of my protection..

hackers wouldn't be my concern, it would be leachers who eat up your bandwidth and steal your internet access. All it takes is one simple google search to figure out how to do it. At least with WEP they would actually know how to break into it.

also, are you talking about creating a wireless bridge between two routers? because if you do that you will kill all WiFi access over the bridge, unless you do bridging with WDS enabled and not all routers have that feature.
