Looking for suggestions for wireless cards.

All I could find is the Galaxy 460GTX WHDI.

Problem is it is so big!

Do you know of something newer and smaller?

It is going in a souped up HTPC so I can share the love on my bedroom TV.

what do you mean wireless? no power cord, just plug it into the pci-e and that's the power source? if it's just an htpc and no gaming then get a 6450 or 6570 or something.

he means one of the graphics cards that send the video signal wirelessly. I am not sure, but I think that one 460 is the only ones that do it.

yeah, only one i saw, if it is not to your liking then you can fork out a but load for a converter kit, just plugs into hdmi port and sends to the box that's connected to the tv

you can look more, was the first one i found on google

Oh that is very nice. That solves my whole problem! Now I can buy a video card that fits my HTPC case and just attached this little unit. Awesome find my friend!

How do you think this will work with two displays though?

My main theater TV is hard wired to the HTPC video source via an HDMI.

I basically want to extend a display onto my bedroom TV so I have access to all my movies and blue ray player in my HTPC.

Will this wireless unit work the same as having two displays running of one card?

One being hard wired and the other of course wireless?

if they aren't being used at the same time i think you can set it up to send the same feed through both ports

Ok ok I think I have it mostly figured out here.

I want to get an HD Radeon 6850 series card paired with that wireless WHDI transmitter.

Dual displays will be not an issue running AMD Infinity eye so we got that problem solved.

BUT.......

Will sound be independently broadcasted through both HDMI outs?

Let me paint you a picture to help described what I am trying to say.

My HTPC is in my living room hard wired to the main viewing TV via HDMI and hard wired to an A/V receiver for my surround sound via a fiber-optic cable. So as of right now my sound is not being sent out the HDMI port, it is being sent out through the fiber optic port. Ya feelin' me?

so all that only requires one audio output source.

BUT now say I add this WHDI card and run it into my bedroom completely away from the HTPC and surround setup.

Will sound be sent to the HDMI port and Optic out port Independently? I will need audio on that TV so I can hear!

What I want to be able to do is send the audio through fiber-optic out when im at my main display and HDMI out for when in my bedroom so sound is played through the TV speakers. How will it know to switch, or will it know to switch?

That is where I am confused.

What you think you big nerd? :gun:

not a clue there, but you should be able to easilly do this with a cheaper card with 2 hdmi's, 6850 is beyond overkill for this.

lol I know, I am a fool for that worthless WEI score. Im shooting for everything above 7.5 and a 6850 is 7.6-7.9 depending on the MB cheapset like AMD 990FX believe.

Plus I dont think $130 bucks is that big of a deal compared to the value of the 6850 itself.

Im just stumped on my audio problem.
