Wireless connection drops as soon as call comes through VOIP service

All, I need help. I have COMCAST high speed internet cable at home and that cable connects with Motorola SBG 900 able modem\wireless router. SBG 900 is connected with Linksys 10\100 5 port workgroup switch. From this switch I have connected my VOIP router from Packet 8. I usually connect my laptop with wireless connection, however as soon as I get a call, many times my wireless connection drops. Interestingly this doesn't happen always. I have Dell Precision M70 laptop with Intel PRO\Wireless 2200BG Network connection. Anybody has any idea, how can I fix this issue? By the way, if I connect my laptop with Ethernet cable from Linksys 10\100 5 port workgroup switch then this problem goes away. I am clueless! Please help.

Well, it just seems that the modem/router resets the wireless connections when a call comes through. This could be because of the modem having to adjust bandwith because of the new call, etc. You can try to replace the modem/router, and that hopefully should fix the problem, or you could try to separate the modem from the router and get a wireless router (replacing the workgroup switch).

Check with Motorola, and if they don't have any suggestions, you're probably left with what I said...
