Wireless connectivity

Hi friends, I have Sony E Series laptop; it is not connecting to Internet from my room but connecting from college or other places. But, my home wireless is working fine with others laptop. For me, it's showing a wire is unplugged or network adapter is broken! :confused: I took it to repair shop but there it was working fine! I live in a shared house, my friends laptops are working fine with same wireless! What is this? Can anybody please help?

Yes, wireless is turned on always and it can find all available connections. I'm using Win7 ultimate.
 
Does the router have security enabled? Is it possible you are using the wrong security key?
