wireless desktop on XP

on an old desktop dell with windows xp, how do i connect it to my wireless router for internet? it doesn't seem as simple as laptops that just have little pop ups saying 'networks available'

Well normally desktops don't have wireless cards unless you add them. Have you installed a wireless card in it? If so, did you install the driver for it? You aren't giving us much to go on here.

sorry for the lack of info. my computer is a dell dimension e310. where can i find a cheap/ compatible wireless card for it?

Your actually better off getting something like either one of these, especially if the wireless router is a good distance from your computer.

I've had very good luck with the Rosewill adapter with very long range from the router.
