wireless hub w/o internets?

HOW Can a person like me connect to my external HDD and printer and other computers/stuff using a wireless internet router and my laptop without having to connect to the internet?

If everything is hooked up now then thats all you need. If not just connect everything like you would if you had internet.
 
so i will be able to access, thru my wireless laptop, the other computers/printers/hdd with the internet router... nothing to set up? just plug it all in? how will my lappy know that the wireless network is there?
 
Have you set up a wireless router before? It doesn't matter if you have internet or not. All the access is through the router, not the internet.
 
i have set up wireless router before... but always with the internets connection in mind.

I tried to just plug everything in, and the laptop couldn't find/connect to the new router that wasn't connected to the internet...

Is there some specific way/order I should hook everything up? I don't know... maybe I'll try it again.
