Wireless Internet Connection Help

Hello all. I have a USB wireless adapter that I use to connect to the internet. Currently it is working, but every one in awhile It will say that I'm connected, with excellent signal, but I can not access the internet. I'm running Vista and am wondering why this is occurring and how I can change it. Restarting my computer seems to work, but obviously there has to be some other way around this. Any help would be appreciated.
 
I'm not exactly sure why this is happening but rather than restarting your computer you could open up a command prompt window and type ipconfig -release then type ipconfig -renew. If you need detailed instructions on how to do that let me know. You could also open up network and sharing center and click manage connections (where ever that is) and right click your wireless network adapter and do a repair. That should do pretty much the same thing.
