Wireless Internet without modem/router?

My girlfriend just moved into an apartment with no coaxial outlet, and no Ethernet outlet. We were wondering what all options there were for her to get a wireless Internet signal running through her apartment?

The things that would be running on the network would be her laptop, Netflix through a Wii, and her tablet.

Obviously, there is the option to get AT&T or a company like that to come out and drill an outlet, but what other options are there?
 
There isn't really. You need some sort of internet brought into the home, which would be the cheapest. I doubt you have any public wifi in your area. Some communities offer wireless internet but doesn't work out very well and usually more expensive then regular dsl/cable for the speed you get.
