I have changed my friend's laptop ips to test something and I just turned it back to its primary one, "automatically ... " , but unfortunately after that he can not connect to the university wireless network anymore. could you please help me with this. It was my fault and I have stress to do something and to make it worse.

He has a windows 8.

Have you rebooted the machine? Go into network and sharing center and on the left hand side, click on manage wireless network and then delete the existing connection for the wireless and set it back up again.

Usually you get that from a mismatched static IP and different gateway.

I'd double check you actually selected DHCP from the configuration.

Could you also append a screenshot highlighting all relevant windows?
