wireless noise interference

hello all, this is my first post, so bear with me. i recently upgraded my wireless internet from an old linksys router (not sure what model) to a new linksys wireless N. i got the router for the computer downstairs, and a internal wireless card for the computer upstairs.

ever since i upgraded the internet ive been getting a static like interference in my speakers every time the wireless card receives a signal from the router (basically every time the lights on the wireless card flash). i did'nt have this problem before the upgrade.

im using a set of soundworks speakers that im sure are good. i even tried a crappy set that came with the computer and had the same result. when i disconnect from the internet on this computer...the problem goes away.

anyone got and suggestions on what could be the cause? im at whits end and this is getting rather annoying...

Do not double post!

As for the problem, all I can think of is the placement of the speakers/cables to the antenna. However, I know my dad's laptop makes weird noises whenever he uses his wifi card(PC-Card) though his internal speakers.
