Hi all, I'm writing this out of desparation. I have an HP 6500 Wireless printer and a Netgear WNR2000 router. I have a desktop and laptop that connect with the printer though this router.
Here's the problem. Ever so often (and lately, quite often), the printer won't print. When I pull up the device manager, it says that it's disabled and the printer will show offline. I always have to end up hooking up the cable to the printer for it to print. Today, it was a 30 minute process to print one page.
I know that uninstalling the printer, removing it from the registry, then reinstalling it will work; I've done it before (about 4 times), but this solution doesn't last more than a month (at most).
Sometimes, I can reboot the computer, enable the printer in the device driver, then click the option to use the printer online and it will print. Today, I wasn't so lucky.
Can anyone please tell me what to do about this problem. It's driving me crazy, not to mention that it's quite annoying. :gun:
Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions you may be able to give. I'd be much relieved - and a lot happier person (not to mention it would cause my wife less stress).
