Wireless Printer

So I am no wireless guru here, I have always lived in a wired world. But I would like to know how I would go about connecting a desktop computer to a wireless printer. The guy at the store gave me a Dlink router and told me I could run my cable modem through it, then hook my computer to it, then find my wireless printer with it, and have the abillity in the future to connect to all of it with a laptop. I worked with it for about 4-5 hours yesterday and could not get it to work, so I put it back in the box.

Well that turned out to be supper easy after hours spent working on it. I just went and bought a usb thumb drive and loaded my network settings from my computer onto it, then pluged it into the printer and loaded the settings there and had it running in 2 minutes.
 
Did you use the cd that came with the printer to set it up? The cd would have done it all for you.
