Wireless Problems. Please Help!

Hey guys.

I have been having some wireless issues recently and need a little help.

I have cable 30 meg service and a wireless N router. I can run a speed test and I get between 30-40 meg speeds at any given time.

My gaming computer is hard wired to the router and there are multiple devices in the home that uses the wireless.

Problem I am having is this: When I am on the gaming computer, everything is running great as long as noone else in on the internet. As soon as ANYONE uses an iphone or ipad, my connection goes to crap. I have tried to pinpoint to see if it is a certain app they are using, but it seems that it does it all the time with different apps or even internet browsing.

I have considered upgrading to a dual band router, but I am wondering if I have bigger issues. Shouldnt a N router support more than 1 device?

Any help or input would be a great help.

Thanks

What kind of provider? ADSL or Cable? are you running directly with the Modem/router or do you have a router hooked up to modem?

Its most likely the router. What brand and model is it? I would see if there was a firmware update for it first and if that doesn't solve it then you most likely have a faulty router.

I am running Charter Communications Cable service.

The router is about 3 years old now. I did update the firmware as well but saw no change.

It is a belkin wireless N router but I dont remember the model right off hand. (I'm at work).

I am ok with upgrading to a new one as I kinda thought it may be my problem.

Any suggestions on a nice router? I would like to stay under 200 USD for it.
