Wireless Question

Ive recently purchased a Netgear DG834G wireless modem and router for my house. it seems to be ok except for one computer which has a slower wireless card installed. The only problem i have with it is that the signal doesnt travel upstairs very well. I have another wireless device ( i think its this: www.amazon.co.uk/Wirel...01&sr=8-4)

and i would have used it except for the fact that it was bought for cable and needs a modem to plug into it. I was wondering, is there any way the linksys router could be used to improve the range throughout my house. I know it has been used before and has provided excellent coverage through three stories.

I can say from experience that the Linksys router has an excellent range. I have a imac in our basement, Xbox 360 and usually my laptop on the first floor and they never have a problem pulling 4 bars from the router that is on our second floor.

If you have an 802.11g wireless router, and you have an 802.11b device connected to it, then all the wireless devices will run in 802.11b mode, so you will have drastically reduced speed and ranged for all wireless devices.
