hey my friend wants a wireless internet card to useon his dads laptop because they use dial up. but his neighbor is willing to let him use there sevice for 5$/mounth(talk about cheap). so he just needs a wireless care that his dad wont know about because he will b@!$% about it and tell him not to use the guys net and get in a whole bunch of argument with the neighbors ect. so will this be a good one ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833332501
thanks for your replys.

yeah usb is good for short distances but the signal is not that strong specially with a few walls between it. but how far does his neighbour lives

on top of all that, try to find out what chipset is in whatever wireless adapter you might have. certain chipsets are better at picking up signals than others. I had these belkin adapters which had a RALink chipset which was not so good at picking up a signal, but my laptop had an atheros card, and it could pick up my wireless router from the backyard!

the best bet would be to pick up the same card that your neighbors have for there router, that way there is no conflicts. (because i've had problems using different brands)

I can vouch for Atheros chipsets too...i got oen in my wireless card and it's excellent. But yah try to go with same brand, cuz' i use d-link cards and d-link router and that probably helps connection too.
