Wirless Connection Issue: Need Help!

Hello,

I have been having issues with my Internet connection the last week and would like to know how to fix the problem. A week ago, I moved into a new apartment, and thus needed a new wireless Internet connection. One of my roommates brought a Netgear Super-G Wireless Router, and it has worked fine for him and my other roommate. However, I am unable to get a consistent Internet connection at the apartment. About 90% of the time, I am unable to properly load a webpage; during these times, my Firefox browser displays the following message: “Firefox can’t find the server at…” The other 10% of the time I am able to surf the web for a limited time, but then the connection is severed.

The odd thing about this issue is that I am connected to the Internet. My wireless connection information always displays my connection as excellent, and this doesn’t change. Yet, I am unable to surf the web. I have tried numerous things, such as calling Netgear and having their representative assist me – he had me do some simple things on my computer, as well as on the host computer (changing the connection type, I think…) and very simple troubleshooting processes.

Other things of note: I use a Fujitsu T Series Lifebook; my wireless connection works perfectly everywhere else (the university’s wireless, my parent’s house, etc.), just not at the apartment; whenever I try to repair my wireless connection at the apartment, I am unable to because I cannot disable the wireless connection adapter – it says I need to make sure that my network adapter is properly installed. How do I do that?

Any help would be appreciated!

..hmm.doesnt work to click diagnose and repair?

sometimes the i.p address gets lost and its necessary to repair.

I assume it says something like connected but local only, or limited connectivity..?
