Yeah, it doesn't matter. The more RAM you have, the more RAM Vista will use.
I have 4GB of RAM, and Vista uses 1GB of it idle. It's no big deal.
 
Vista is running excellently on there now. Its memory usage is 54% after superfetch, so just over 260mb, which, is less than XP, which used 411MB for the same tasks, suprisingly. I have sound working, and its quite impressive. Its not as slow as you would expect.
 
Well, I put this on my AMD machine and it works nicely. I previously had XP Pro running on it. I'll keep it on there as long as it runs well. We'll see I guess.
 
I think it'll hang in there - but just wait till you start installing other programs on it. THEN I'll wish you good luck. :D
 
2 weeks later, and im not regretting it at all! It works flawlessly! I even use the sidebar, and it doesn't slow down :)
