Since my bro baught his new bfg 6600 gt oc his computer has been freezing alot with his 350W 12v@12A PSU, he wants me to get him a better power supply. All he does is game, he just needs a good power supply to run the 6600 GT, he doesnt need some fancy top of the line one. He gave me $75, I was planning on getting this Nikao PSU with 450W
Nikao:
450W
+3.3V...+5V....+12V....-12V....-5V.....-5VSB
..26A.....28A....30A.....0.8A...0.3A.....2.0A
It has 12V@30A, this PSU cost $50 with tax and everything it goes to almost $70. So than when I kept searching for more psu's I found this really good deal, An awesome Computer Case with a 450W PSU for $50, after tax its only $60
the PSU in case:
450W
+3.3V...+5V....+12V....-12V.....-5V...-5VSB
..30A.....50A....25A.....0.8A.....0.5A...2.5A
It looks like the ratings on this PSU are all higher than the Nikao one except for the +12V rail with 30A. I've also read good reviews about this computer case+psu combo.
So what im wondering is, does 5 amps make a difference on the 12V rail.
Nikao: +12V@30A
Case+PSU: +12V@25A
I've read PSU 101 and it says for midrange gamers should have +12V@25A, my bro is only a midrange gamer that plays WoW most of the time.
Is it werth the extra money to get 5 more amps, because that case+psu i think is an awesome deal, the case lights up and its big and has case fans that glow.
