WMF screwed me over...

A few years ago, I was ripping some CD contents with WMP and thought that xyz kbps meant mp3. No, I was wrong, sneaky little WMP ripped my CDs into WMF, which can't even be played on MP3 machines supporting WMA. Anyone know how I can convert WMF to WMA (more preferable) or WMF to MP3 (less preferable) with minimal loss in quality?

I'm sure there are many programs out there that will convert the files, just google for it...

Another method if you really can't find anything is try to find something that'll record your master output. That way you can record anything that plays though your speakers!

Something else, I'm not too familar with WMF's, but have you tried to change the extention? Probably won't work, but just curious...

i use adobe audition and it supports .wma files. you can open it and save it to any file...

if you want to convert to mp3 in media player, you have to ad a plugin, get:

http://www.intervideo.com/products/custom/ms/windowsxp/media_pack.jsp

for $10, then you can make mp3s...

.wma files are supposed to be higher quality byte for byte to an mp3, but they arent compatible with anything really...
