WMP has issues with WMV/WMA

My WMP is experiencing a wierd issue with WMA/WMV files... first of all its running the files at a fast rate although my speed is set to normal (if I play at 0.5 speed it sounds normal) furthermore it also played them in a high pitch sound which sounds I dont know how to describe other then by saying that it justs like Foamy (from the website www.friendsoffoamy.com). Now I am sure that the files themselves are fine since I tried to play then on my friends computer and it ran fine... What should I do?

i don't know about the fast playback but i think, i think...if u have Realtek AC97 check its settings it is known to change playback quality and adds odd sound effects...but it may not be ur case !!
