WMPlayer Overuse of CPU

Hi - WMPlayer v11 on my laptop (1.8Ghz 1.5Gb ram 60gb toshiba M3) every time I open it immediately takes up 97-100% of the CPU, according to Task Manager. This happens regardless of what I am using WMPlayer for, even if it is not playing anything!!

I 'rolled back' WMPlayer to v10, then downloaded and reinstalled v11, but the same thing happens.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything I can do to stop it happening?

Cheers!

Question are you running Windows Vista? This could be a hardware issues as I have read from a previous forum.

no its running XP Pro... I cant see why it would be a hardware issue, because i havent changed anything at all... it just started playing up.

Yeah I said it might be an hardware issue, but I guess it's not. Can you think of anything that you might have installed lately that could be causing this issue.

v10 seems to be working alright, was up at 90% for a short while though....

edit: nope - even v10 is permanently hanging around 90%
