Won't boot past bios

My computer refuses to boot. It tries to start-up and I can access the bios, but before it attempts to load windows, it just restarts and repeats over and over again. I think it may be due to shutting off the power last time while it was starting up. Any ideas on what might be wrong or how to fix it? Thanks!

P.S. Its an XFX 780i motherboard

If you still have the OS CD (and if it's bootable) you can try to boot on it and run the disc scan ("chkdsk" or something of that kind) to search errors in the OS or in the hard drive.

It is very bad for you computer to shut off the power during windows loading. Never do it again =/

I hope your windows isn't too much damaged.

Your Windwos has something corrupted inside of it. You need to reinstall it or run your back-up if you made one. The reason why I'm saying this is because I had the same problem. An important file was deleted and that led to the problem where the pc would just restart.

Try doing a Windows Repair as it will save you the grief of having to backup your data. (Since it only removes and reinstalls the C:\WINDOWS\ folder on the system.)

Boot with your installation CD, hit enter on the first screen (Do not select the R for recovery console option). On the next screen hit F8 to accept the license agreement. Now on the third screen if the system is not totally borked it should detect the previous (original) Windows installation on your system and on this screen it will give you the options to repair it.

From here when you choose the repair option it will reinstall your Windows folder while leaving your program files, documents and settings, and everything else intact. Should take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Good luck.
