No drive connected to Fasttrack controller, Bios not installed. This is the message i get when i start up my computer. its an MSI ms-6704. ive reinstalled windows on it and i am able to get into the bios. anyone know what the problem is?

Have you opened the machine up? Is it a store-made unit?

It sounds like your machine has an add-in drive controller. If this is the case for you, then try connecting the drive directly to the motherboard and see if it will detect.

ive had it open. its not store made. the hard drive i have in bios is labled slave even though its on the master spot and the only hdd in there. maybe this is a problem?

It may be.

Do you have an optical drive in there? Are both drives on the same cable, or one to each?

If the latter, then change the jumper to Master and reboot. Make sure the cable is well-seated at both ends. If the former, make sure one is Master and the other Slave.

Are the drive cables plugged into the motherboard or an add-in card?
