Word & internet outlines gray or white out

After a crash on my Dell 5150 inspiron I reinstalled the software. MS Word 2007 is grayed out around the top menu bars, Norton 360 3.0 is whited out and can only see the words and no orange colors which usually is visible and also when on the internet I cannot see certain items. My desktop is fully visible with no problems. I went to dell.com and reinstalled most drivers that I thought I may have missed but it seems a driver is missing or something is not working right. What's wrong. I have been dealing with this for a couple of weeks.

Thanks

I am using Windows XP. Under device manager I have two question marks. One is listed under "other devices," and then a subfolder which has a question mark beside "Ethernet Controller." I hope this explains things better. However, I do not understand one comment which uses the term "screenshot."

First off, I don't understand a thing you're talking about. A screenshot would help that.

As far as missing drivers, go into the device manager (Right click My Computer and select Manage, then choose Device Manager) and see if there are any devices with yellow question marks.

Look in device manager for entries that need drivers, they will have yellow question marks on them. Give us a list of entries, Most likely you need a video driver as well as chipset and a few others.

I posted an update to the information that might make more sense as best I can. I do not know the correct terms to describe what is going on. Thanks

Right click on each device and click on properties, then click on the details tab. Please give me the 4 digit vendor and device ID numbers, examples are circled in red in the attached image.

Thanks for the response. You're great ! I have listed the info below. It would not identify the product but gave this information.

PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_4401&SUBSYS_015F1028&REV__01\4&39A85202&0&08F0

I probably gave too much info but I wanted to make sure I gave what you needed.

It did say that there was a problem. This is the first time I found something that said there was a problem. Thanks
