Ok, Im trying to setup a home network and Im having a really weird issue. I have three computers that I want to all be communicating to one another and able to swap files and share a networked printer.

The first one is a Dell Desktop running XPSP3 and has the networked printer on it. It is a member of the workgroup HOME

The second is a Dell Laptop running XPSP3 and is also a member of the same workgroup.

Finally we have a Compaq Laptop Running VistaSP1 and it also on the workgroup.

Heres the problem though, The desktop can see both laptops and share files, however the laptops cannot see the desktop or the printer (which is shared) yet the laptops can see one another and swap files.

All are connected to a Linksys WRT54G Wireless router if that makes a difference. So what the heck is up with this?

Well I figured this one out just a sec ago, apparently I needed to disable the firewall on the desktop. I dont like doing this usually, but it is still being monitored by AVG so it should be ok. Its rarely if ever used as is.
