I have an old copy of Microsoft Works, not Word. I am trying to open up a document that I created with Works but for some reason now it's not letting me. A bunch of random numbers and letters come up instead. Can anyone help?

you probably need a converter plugin. what are your versions?

Yeah, that sounds like a conversion problem. If you scroll though the document, typically you can find some text in there.

Worst case, download OpenOffice and see if that'd open it. It's a very good, free Office program much like Microsoft Office. Or heck, if you don't mind others looking at it, you could send the file to someone and let them try to open it, perhaps converting to something basic like a .txt file.
