worth upgrading from Q9550?

Gaming wise, would I see an improvement in my 680, if I were to buy the Core i5 3570K or AMD FX 8350 ?

if your running your q series quad core at stock then absolutly. if its already running at 4Ghz, then you are probably fine. although the i5 will open the card up a bit more since you will be able to overclock it, as well as the gpu.

Yep the i5 3570K is faster than the Q9550. I'd upgrade.

I built my friend a pc with an i5 2500k and at stock speeds it had similar performance as my q9550 @ 4ghz, its like I've had an i5 for years before it came out . Of course I'd OC the new cpu anyway, so I will still get more performance

Id say yes,I went from a Q6600 @ 3.4 to a 3570k..even at stock the 3570k seemed faster,Overclocked to 4.2 its a beast.

i really wanted to go socket 2011, but damn its expensive for what you get and not worth it for gaming alone. I wanted to get a ton of ram and use ramdisk.
