Worth Upgrading?

Firstly I have,

7900 GT EVGA
2 GB Corsair RAM
150 GB 10,000 RPM HD Raptor
620 Watt PSU
FX-57 Windsor AMD Processor
And a mobo that I can't remember atm :P. It's decent.

Now is it worth upgrading to,

A new mobo that supports Intel Core 2 Duo
E6600
8800 EVGA GTX

Now I already know I can get 2 GB more ram for free, and I am getting the 8800, question is, is it worth upgrading to a new mobo and processor? Because the price of an FX-57 is higher than that of the E6600 which I don't quite understand... But any help would be greatly appreciated, even if you don't tell me what to do if I could just get info on why the FX-57 is more expensive and to my knowledge worse than the E6600.

Thanks :D.

It would be worth upgrading mostly because is an outdated mobo and processor that you have, plus the C2D always use less power and generate less heat apart from having a better performance (depending on the model but that E6600 is going to beat your current processor), you might want to look at the E6750 instead of the E6600 and a P35 mobo

Alright, thanks for the feedback :D.

Wait is the E6600 better than the E6750 because it is more expensive.... Are you saying I should get the E6750, and it is better but cheaper? That doesn't make much sense.

I will say get new GPU if you like. However, you current set-up should be performing quite well.
I don't see the point of getting C2D in your case as your current system is still alright. If you need new CPU and MB, I would suggest you waiting for the new CPUs with new MB next year because those new CPU need MB with new sockets.

I also Suggest waiting.

That computer you have atm, Is quite a Decent computer.

What would you do with the parts if you upgraded now.

Leave em in your closet?

Not a good place :D

I too would love a C2D But i am waiting for new CPU n Motherboards.

But as i always think,

If you want it that much, And have the money, i say GO FOR IT

Well the thing is I can sell my current parts to my brother for like 500 ish dollars and buy the new ones only costing me like 300 or so.

that probably makes it worth it... or else sell the old one for 500 and build one that costs like a grand and have it be a really nice futureproof machine
