It will be a decent low-end gaming laptop.

The video card isn't that good, and wont play the new games very well. Besides that, it's a great laptop. I had a very similar E1505 but with the x1400, and that played games like CSS on medium-high settings.

so would you go with

256MB ATI MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory

or

256MB NVIDIA® GeForce™Go 7300 TurboCache

I know the 7300 is higher up according to dell, but I really think that the x1400 would be the best option for gaming performance.

And for that price, it's a great deal.

I've got a Dell 6400 similmar to that (check my sig).
I'm not into FPS's more MMORPG's like WoW and the only problem was my resolution. It's so high it causes more problems then its worth because it drains my framerate down to the 25's on low. So my advice stick away from the high res option if you plan on gaming stick to 1200x800 and you should be fine.
Good luck
