Would this fan work well with this CPU

As long as the fan model fits the CPU, as well as fit on your mobo, then you're good to go dude. I would look into a Zalman heatsink if you can because they are the best heatsinks you can buy for the money. Just my opinion though.

Ask pck21 said, it'll be fairly good if it'll fit. The main problem is that a lot of motherboards use quite large northbridge chipset coolers and with large tower heatsinks the bottom fins can touch the northbridge and it can become a real sod to fit. What motherboard do you have? Pictures of the motherboard mean we can make rough guesstimates on whether it'll fit.

I went with Chups advice and got a Zalman cnps 9700. Dropped my temps by 20+C, and now I sit idle around 20*C.

Very good ariflow as well. It push air through the fins from the side, which goes right into the exhaust fan. Put a 120-140 fan infront of the hsf and you will have a very nice and effective air circulation.
