I really enjoy finding deals, I also enjoy putting pc's together, so im trying to see if I could make a little money doing it

Any tips would be appreciated

I've seen some people paying rediculous prices for turn key computers, I got a rough estimate of what I can put the following together for, tell me if/what you would pay for it

Coolermaster 750w psu
Q6600 cpu
Decent case (forget the name)

Well say any fair sli ready mobo

8800gt gpu
4gb of ddr2 ram
500gb hd
Cd rom

And vista? Or would it be better to leave the operating system open for the buyer?

What would you pay for a computer ready to go (or think some one would pay) with the listed hardware? I could put that together for under 500$ (without operating system)

most people who buy pre-built don't know the ACTUAL worth of their system.

you could sell that for probably $640-$750. Also, dependant on the case if it looks either high performance or flashy people will go "that looks good...it must be good =D".

You don't often get people buying pre-built who know fully what goes on inside because they are afraid to go in and venture incase they break something, so let someone else do it. Obviously that is a generalisation. i have bought pre-built in the past, i know people who know their ways around computers who have but take advantage of the majority that don't and rip em off a little

lol... what the hell do you think alienware does...

builds crappy systems, uses flashy lights, case lightings, green cords, watercooling with green crap (if your lucky) AND they literaly put every little letter/number as posible in the specs just to confuse the buyer thinking, OMG THIS MUST BE GOOD!!!

and sells if for ~1000-2000

for all they know they could be buying a $300 computer thats flashyer then the runway in vegas...

hehe i learn from experience

edit: ALSO, about the water cooling...

if your gunnu be an A**hole and scam ppl (... its not nice) put water cooling in, you can easily boost that price $300 more. heres why

Pros: (what customers think about)
OMG WATER COOLING THIS MUST BE TOP 'O de LINE
Cool these tubes look awesome...
OMG GREEN WATER (likes thats healthy...)

Cons: (what you think about lol)
hehe wait till theres a leek... ima get another $700 hehe

i have people who dont know anything about computers.. thats why i force my freinds to learn =)

ROFL yuki...

If i wanted to buy a pre-built computer (not that I EVER will...), then I would consider that one because it's well balanced. However, other people (DONT ask me why) are going to want to see the 9XXX series. So put a 9800GT in that computer (110 on newegg), and you would be more likely to keep people that know what they are talking about saying "Oh, this is old...", get my drift?

Other than that, make it a DVD burner...

I don't know I mean there are parts of the specs that are nice I would leave to OS up to the owner but include a vista disk in case that is what they want
