would you consider my pc a "budget" pc?

I would call it midrange, but what difference does it make?

Here is my definition:

$0-$800 Budget
$800-$2000 Midrange
$2000+ High end

i dunno, i'm just kind of curious. it really is a "budget" pc in my view because i had to skimp off in certain areas... but your definition of a high end pc is pretty extreme too.. that's a lot of cash.

I don't think your pc is a budget pc, the only thing I would have done is gone with 1 GB ram and got a gtx, you can always get another gig later easier than a whole new video card.

yeah, that was my original intentions, but when my uncle told me he could get the gtx for 450 for me, that left me with enough cash to get 2gb instead of 1 and a raptor. he bought it, and when i received it it ended up being the 7800gt. i would have definitely got the gtx instead, but it's all said and done now. i hope to sell my gt and get the new ati when it comes out in january.. if and only if it beats the gtx of course.

Yea, my computer is a budget pc. This is what i think:
Budget 0-700
MidRange 701-1600
Higher end 1600-2500
High End 2501+

But i have never had the money to buy a good computer, so my ideas might be different then yours

2,000 is a lot of money for me, and if you're building your own computer and you're spending over 2,000 dollars it better be badass! You can actually build a pretty good computer for around 1,400.

0-800 Budget
801-1,400 Midrange
1,4001-1,600 Higher End
1,6001-2,000+ HIGH END!

I wouldn't consider it a budget PC it looks pretty sweet. A lot nicer than mine of course mine is 2 years old and still pretty competitive but it was high end when I built it 2 years ago.

what parts would that include would that just be for then parts in the computer or would that include monitor keyboard mouse and speakers? sorry to kind of steal your thread just curious :)

I wouldn't say a computer is a budget computer just depending on the price. I would say your computer is a mid-high range computer just looking at the parts.

Hehe if you only knew how much i paid for my box (if im being too subtle, i didnt pay a whole lot). On a scale of 0-10 inclusive id prolly park yer machine at a 6.5-7.5 as it is... now if u start pushing the parts and stuff i think you could prolly (on the same scale) jack 'er to a 8ish :)
