Wouldn't games with DX10 have higher system requirements?

With all the new DX 10 compatible cards out there right now few games support it, so even if your video card supports DX 10 would everything look better even when you turn down the video settings like antialiasing, and stuff like that? I mean if it doesn't then DX10 cards like the 8600 are pretty useless if they can only play using DX10 on minimum quality...
 
yes, thats right, but that would apply to the 8500GT and lower. As far as I know the 8600GTS will be able to handle DX10 pretty good. Then again, I need a DX10 game to test this
 
As technology goes on, they'll try to make low system requirements that give the same quality as high end systems do.
 
Ya cause just today I tried the World in Conflict Demo and my GTS can't run it all on high, which is a bummer cause for some reason I just don't like to play games in any less quality. and yeah my computer can't handle World in Conflict all on high without a frame lag of like 18 or so...
