.WOV movie clips

Hi, i downloaded a couple of Soccer advert clips which are .wov files. and tried to open using windows media player 10. but no use. what other media software can play those files.

Any help would be greatful

As far as I know, "*.wov"s are Cakewalk temp files, storing waveforms of some audio data.

I've never come across .wov files before, but you can bet that if they don't play in VideoLan Player http://www.videolan.org/ they don't have any video contained in them (as Lorand has suggested they may not).

You can attempt a brute-force approach via TMPGEnc but that, being a brute force route, may or may not work.

Sorry i made u guys work on this. But i made a silly mistake typing. its MOV not WOV. i never heard of WOV file also. So excuse my mistake.

Whats the best Media player i could use to play .MOV clips. is there a codec for Windows Media Player??

MOV is Quicktime file. But Quicktime player is full of crap (I hate that software...), so you could try a codec that lets you play such video clips in other players: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htm

And you can always brute force reencode with TMPGEnc
