This is funny i mean today i come home with my laptop.
I know for me to be able to browse the net i need to reset my modem so i did.
Connected the cable to lappy and off i go.....guess what.....vista can't identify my network. ok so after some searches i disabled my wireless connection and do an ipconfig release/renew, to no avail. so i asked a friend his lappy to connect and he did within 10 secs on XP. it took me 35 minutes fiddling with network/sharing center etc to sort out the connection on vista....geez, i wonder what its like for home users using vista and those not so computer literate..

Microsoft really need to improve vista's network department way to much unneeded options

I hate the way Vista is setup when it comes to networking, i've had a few issues with it as well.

true true and it really pisses me off that it can see the whole map (lappy-modem-internet) but can't actually connect. i look like a complete d*ck when my buddy connected his laptop to my modem :o:P and browsed away....:D
when i look in network/sharing center i see 2 connections my Lan and and un-indentify one, yet i'm using my lan and it doesn't work

What I find annoying is what you have to go through to get to the network connections control panel.

agreed, to get our IP on Xp we simply right click the lan icon on the taskbar and check details but now we have to put a liitle bit more effort to get out IP's :P

and one thing i don't like is when i sometimes configure network connections for some of my neighbors running vista they often ask me why am i slooowwww in fixing the problem, and when i tell them it's the OS they go like "hell no" :D
