WoW Junkies Need Your Help

So I found out my mother is having random freezes to force a hard boot while playing WoW. I can't see a heat issue but I was curious do you guys randomly freeze while playing with pristine conditions? Its not a constant but last night it happened 3-4 times....2-3 weeks prior it didn't happen at all. Makes me wonder if its a heat issue but it survived 6 hour prime95 tests and gpu tests with no issues :/

Sadly I no longer play so I have no clue if its a common issue for the community or if its her system.

Thanks...seems like its a failure on Blizzard's end then. Thanks for saving me a lot of time. Everything they claimed on support/thread I do via second nature so its not PC side then.

yea it happens every now and again the past few weeks i get major lag spikes or just get DC and have to get back on

Yeah, maybe it's the realm? Depending on the size of it, and the problem it may be experiencing. Check the realm's forum page on the WoW forums to see if others are mentioning it. They've been doing work on quite a bit of them for Cata.

yea im on gundrak :P but alot of people i play with on there dont have it.. i think its my router stuffing up actuly because my brother plays and when i go off so does he

Well its not a simple WoW freeze or disconnect but a full GPU freeze. The issue I have is....her GPU never passes 60c (which its rated for 100c) and its clean/drivers updated and done properly with driversweeper. The system also is cleaned monthly so its not dust issue and all the stress tests I do on her system pass with flying colors.

The only thing I can guess is perhaps the PSU is the issue....was on a super tight budget at the time with her so reused her 450w corsair.

Specs
X2 5400+ 2.8ghz (Arctic 64 Cooler)
GIGABYTE GA-MA770-DS3P
450w Corsair - +3.3V@20A, +5V@20A, +12V@33A, [email protected], [email protected]
EVGA 512-P3-N975-AR GeForce 9800 GT 512MB
500GB HDD
1x DVDR Drive
4 120mm Fans

I believe the 9800GT was 26a so she is under load but not sure if over time you lose some of your rating as the PSU gets older. I think its around 3 years old now :P

*edit*
I thought about buying this just to rule the PSU out.

$43 600w PSU + modular....since next time she upgrades 6-8 cores will be "common" and so 750w+ will be needed.
