so i put in two sticks of 256 mb ram in my dads computer the other day. (somebody gave my mom a computer that she is going to end up not using, so i stripped it) i got worried when i ran the bios and saw it only recognized like, 146 mb or something...i thought i had damaged the ram on the way home. anyway, i restarted it today...my dad just leaves it on 24/7...and the system memory had changed again, so i ran setup and saw that it now recognized the full 512. i have got to say, using the internet has become a lot smoother. when pages are loading, the computer doesnt make a sound! the memory just crushes it. whats funny is that the cpu is only a dinky 500 mhz intel. oh well, you cant win everything.
